Creed Robert Sisson

A son of the late Bill and Clara Humphrey Sisson, he was a native and resident of McMinn County for most of his life. He was retired from Bowater Southern Paper Corporation, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of Delano Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell Sisson; two sisters, Allene Woods and Ermal Loftis; and two sons, Ronnie Sisson and Bobby Sisson.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Elfreda Sisson of Delano; one daughter, Delois Ann Johnson of Delano; grandchildren, Sean Sisson, Lynnette Cowart and husband, Chris, Brandon Sisson and wife, B.J., Lalenia Hamel, Michelle Gogichaishvili and Samantha Davenport; great-grandchildren, Bronze Cowart, Brodie Cowart, Noah Cowart, Spencer Sisson and Riley Sisson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Jack Carlock of Fredericksburg, Va., Wanda and Frank Pearson of Chattanooga, and Shirley and T.R. Moates of Delano; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Nelsie Sisson and Vestal and Martha Sisson, all of Etowah; one special daughter-in-law, Sandy Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Taylor and the Rev. Mark Hensley officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday and will proceed to Delano Cemetery for the 2 p.m. burial with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Paul Tatum, James Blevins, Dale Bentkowski, Michael Tatum, Bronze Cowart, Chris Cowart and Aaron Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
