Charles Curtis Stokes

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ollie Wharf Stokes; two brothers, Marvin and James Russell Stokes; and two sisters, Elizabeth Joann and Reba Cordell.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Stokes of Decatur; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Charles David and Kristy Stokes of Decatur, Bobby Allen and Teresa Stokes of Athens, and Randy and Christi Stokes, Steve Stokes and special friend, Marion Branham, and Curtis Adam Stokes, all of Decatur; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Gail and Junior Millsaps of Athens, and Mary Ellen and Dewayne Ensley of Decatur; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gene and Earlene Allen, and Gordon Leon Stokes, all of Lenoir City; three sisters, Mattie Bowman and Nettie Price, both of Decatur, and Betty Dyer of Kingsport; 15 special grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Methodist Church Cemetery in Decatur, with sons and a nephew serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
