Duane Shoffeitt

Duane Shoffeitt, 70, of Englewood, died early Sunday morning, June 21, 2009, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

A son of the late Jim and Irene Jeralds Shoffeitt, he was a native of Greeneville, and was a resident of Englewood for most of his life. He was retired from Thomas & Betts after 31 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of North Englewood Missionary Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Jalyn Hood; and one brother, Darrell Shoffeitt.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Sue Jeralds Shoffeitt of Englewood; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ronnie Bain of Athens; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Walt Shoffeitt and Eddie and Sandra Mullinax, all of Englewood; grandchildren, Kara and Richard Robinson, Amber Allen and Jerreth Bain and fianceƩ, Mary Beth Brown; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Bob Cass of Englewood, and Lillie Faye and Stan Dorff of Milwaukee, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Waldrop and the Rev. Bennie Goodman officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Tuesday and will proceed to Sunrise Cemetery for the 10 a.m. burial.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
