James Sumner

James \"Hilton\" Sumner, 56, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of the Witnesses for Jesus Christ Church in Ten Mile, and was preceded in death by his father, James Emory Sumner.

He leaves behind his wife, Teresa N. Sumner of Ten Mile; his mother and father, Ed and Delores Roberts of Ten Mile; three sons, Simon Sumner of Labelle, Fla., and Josh and Tyler Sumner, both of Ten Mile; one daughter, Maryellen Uriostegui and husband, Galdino, of Lehigh, Fla.; one sister, Betty Slovenski and husband, Marshall, of Felda, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Briseis and Xitlali Uriostegui, both of Lehigh, Fla.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Robertson officiating. Burial followed in Roberts Cemetery in Ten Mile

Pallbearers were Edward Miller, Marshall Slovenski, Adam Slovenski, Galdino Uriostegui, Javier Uriostegui, Artie Browning and Jeremy Bivens.

The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Bowers Funeral Home of Decatur was in charge of arrangements.
