William J.C. Langford

A native of Monroe County, and a former resident of Hixson, he had been a resident of McMinn County since 1994. A son of the late Jess and Elsie Cassady Langford, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Clinton Langford; one sister, Fannie Rae Langford; one sister and her husband, Vera Langford and James Deward Hutsell; and one brother-in-law, W.G. Dake. He was retired from Dupont, Inc., and was a member of Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one sister, Alene Langford Dake of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Joan Langford of Powell; two nephews and one spouse, Gill and Kathy Dake and David Langford; one niece and her husband, Debby Dake and Scotty Hannah; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Alison Dake, Jeremy Dake, Amy Hannah, Christy Hannah, Bob Hannah, Scott Hannah and Will and Kaylie Dake.
Graveside services were 3 p.m. Monday in Fender\'s Chapel Cemetery in Sweetwater with the Rev. Jeff Wright officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
