Linda Brown Looper, 59, of Dalton, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward \"Gene\" Looper. She retired as an educator from the Dalton School System in 2003 due to illness.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and David Skinner of Cumming, Ga., and Cindy and Johnny Wellington of Dalton, Ga.; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Jr. and Shelley Looper of Kennesaw, Ga.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, W.J. and Frances Looper of Auburndale, Fla.; one sister, Janie Bowers of Decatur; two brothers, Joe Brown of Chattanooga, and Jim Brown of Athens; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Burial followed in United Memorial Gardens. A White Dove Release Ceremony concluded the service.

The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
