Robert Mark Davis, 91, of Tellico Plains, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Davis; one son, Larry Davis; his parents, Jack and Harriet Davis; and one son-in-law, Kenneth Verlin Yearwood. He was a member and deacon of Unicoi Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theater during World War II and specializing in the training of war dogs. His love for dogs has continued throughout his life.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Charles Leming of Tellico Plains, and Peggy and Jerry Howell of Sweetwater; grandchildren and their spouses, Denise and Brian Watson, Shan and Reagan Dalton, Kristy and Stephen Webb and Casey Tallent; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Joy Watson, McKinley Dalton, Silas and Kaleb Webb, Jake and Jesse Tallent and Gauge Webb; a special friend, Sandra Pyron; and a special caregiver, Nancy Swett.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Unicoi Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwayne Leming and the Rev. Mickey Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Webb officiating and military honors provided by Sweetwater VFW Post 5156 and DAV Chapter 93.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home.
