Anna Bohannon Derrick, 62, of Harriman, and formerly of Cookeville, died Monday night, Oct. 29, 2012, at her residence.
She was a native of Cookeville and a daughter of the late Roy Hobert Sr. and Helen Scarlet Bohannon. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Hobert Bohannon Jr.; and one nephew, Jason Bohannon. She was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church, a graduate of Putnam County High School and a member of the Communication Workers of America. She was associated with BellSouth as an electronic technician, retiring after 37 years.
Survivors include her husband, Steven G. Derrick of Harriman, and formerly of Athens; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff Gadd of Hixson, and Adam and Christie Derrick and Seth and Sabrina Derrick, all of Athens; five granddaughters, Joselyn Gadd, Brianna Carroll, Savannah Cross, Tiffany Cross and Kathrine Derrick; four grandsons, Jason Derrick, Chris Derrick, Riley Derrick and Curt Jackson; one brother, Carl Bohannon of Cookeville; and her mother-in-law, Anna Mae Humphreys Derrick of Athens.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Services with Brother Ken Isham officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Gadd, Curt Jackson, Adam Derrick, Seth Derrick, Kristin Jackson and Charlie Womac.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Faye Forgety, 120 County Rd. 447, Athens, TN 37303.
