Birtha Mae Harris, 93, of Englewood, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at her home.

She was the oldest and a lifelong member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Harris; four sons, John Henry Harris Jr., David Edgar Harris, Herman Monroe Harris and Mural Avery Harris; her parents, James Harvey and Minnie Louisa Clark Baker; one great-grandson, Andrew Howard Land; two sisters, Rossie Cole and Julie Baker; and seven brothers, Wheeler, J.D., Fred, Auther, Bill, Carl and Fate Baker.

Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Amos and Ulene Harris and Kenneth and Redina Harris, all of Madisonville, Charles and Louise Harris, Carl and Patty Harris and Ardell and Mary Harris, all of Etowah, and Darrell and Shonna Harris of Englewood; six daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Jerald Kilby of Tellico Plains, Tammie and Richard McConkey of Mt. Vernon, Ruth and Carl Lichlyter of Englewood, Bonnita Newman of Etowah, Jewel and Terry Wallace of Trenton, Ga., and Alene and Rex Jones of Loganville, Ga.; 36 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lula Harris of Englewood; and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Atkins and Chaplain Mike Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Eleazar Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
