Morris W. Leininger returned home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
He was a member of Athens Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto W. Leininger and Mabel C. Leininger.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judith L. Leininger; one son, two daughters and their spouses, Christine Leininger-Good, Craig and Ellen Leininger and Chandra and Anthony Vargeson; grandchildren and their spouses, Timothy \"Buck\" Harden, Tara Harden, Anthony Leininger, Andy and Maggie Leininger, Sarah Vargeson, Amber Vargeson, Zachariah Russell and Dustin Vargeson; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Leininger, Lynne Vargeson and Emma Zeller-Leininger; two sisters and their spouses, Carolyn and Paul Sanford and Rose Marie and Dave Webb; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Remembrance of Life service was held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Athens Lutheran Church with Pastor Detrie officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caris Healthcare, 421 Old Riceville Rd., Suite 3, Athens, TN 37303.
