Dec. 16, 2012
Melissa Ellen Bradshaw Sherrill, 26, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.
Ellen was a devoted, loving, and caring mother to her newborn daughter, Molly Jane; her husband, Ryan, and her entire family. She loved all of us with a kind nature and a giving heart. No one who knew her could have ever felt she had not touched them in a positive way. If ever there could be a person living without a single gram of meanness in their entire being, it was Ellen Bradshaw Sherrill.
Ellen had achieved her professional goal working as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in women\'s health. She worked with patients under Dr. Tracie Traver, OBGYN in Maryville and the Lisa Ross Birth Center in Knoxville. Ellen was a graduate with high honors from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and masters degree as nurse practitioner.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Lester B. Wheeler of Pulaski, and Herbert Bradshaw of Mt. Juliet.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Ryan Sherrill, and their newborn daughter, Molly Jane Sherrill, of Knoxville; her parents, Herb and Connie Bradshaw of Athens; one brother, 1st Lt. Trey Bradshaw and wife, Kirstin, posted at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Okla.; grandmothers, Jane Wheeler of Pulaski, and Peggy Bradshaw of Lebanon; mother and father-in-law, Dr. John and Beth Sherrill of Crossville; and two families of loving and affectionate aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends gathered at 11:30 am Wednesday at Tennessee Veteran\'s Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for the graveside service.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. The family requests to honor Ellen, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the Molly Jane Sherrill Trust established with Citizens National Bank - Attn. Mike Bivens, P.O.
