Dorothy Lynn \"Dottie\" Young, 71, widow of Blake M. Young, of Sweetwater and formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 24, 2012, at Sweetwater Hospital.
A member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Carey Akins; her parents, the Rev. Oley and Bertha Farley Simpson; and one sister.
Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Rodney Packett of Sweetwater, Linda and Danny Akins of Jacksboro, Vickie and Robby Raper of Fair Play, S.C., Shannon and Tracy Harris of Englewood, and Melissa and Howie Rose of Ten Mile; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Biereley-Hale Chapel with the Rev. Scott Packett officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Chestua Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
