Flossie Key Underwood, 92, of Athens and a former resident of Meigs County, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Life Care Center of Athens.
A daughter of the late Lummie and Callie Torbett Key, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Underwood; one son, Charles Underwood; and two brothers, Clyde Key and Wesley Key. She retired from White-Westinghouse in 1985 and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Thomas of Athens; one grandaughter, Tammi Young of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Theresa Hope of Cleveland; and several special neices and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the employees of Life Care Center of Athens for their special care of Mrs. Underwood.
Graveside servics were 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Pallbearers were Tracy Moyers, Mark Sesler, Chad Key, Jimmy Baker, Joe Crabtree Jr. and Frederick Underwood.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday prior to the service at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
