Jack Paul Ramsey, 76, of Riceville, died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Garland T. and Gertrude Plemons Ramsey. He owned and operated Ramsey\'s Barber Shop, along with his wife, Faye, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Faye Garland Ramsey of Riceville; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Gary Carter of Lexington, Ky.; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack Jr. and Jody Ramsey of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Daylon Ramsey and Jaydon River Ramsey; one granddaughter whom they raised and her husband, Francesca and Aaron Grisham of Memphis; two great-granddaughters, Sarrah Grisham and Erin-Mishael Grisham; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Ruth Ramsey of Rockford, and Carol and Leroy Breeden of Greenback; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Roy Ramsey of Bean Station, and J.R. and Barbara Ramsey of Rutledge.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Dallas Nance officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers were Lamar Davis, Don Halcomb, Daylon Ramsey, Jaydon Ramsey, Aaron Grisham and Bobby Farris.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
