Rex R. Dotson Sr., 75, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his residence.

He was an avid golfer and was an active member of the Elks Lodge, Cleveland Country Club and a social member of the American Legion. He was the son of the late Hayden and Bertha Mae Dotson of Clyde, N.C. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Hellan Johnson of Clyde, N.C.; and two brothers, Jack and William Gayle Dotson of Cleveland.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Wanda Dotson; one son and daughter-in-law, Rex R. Dotson Jr. and his wife, Jeanine, of Cleveland; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Desiree and Ted Brown of Hudson, Fla., Trish Watson of Niota and Theresa and Ronnie Vaughn of Riceville; eight grandchildren, Rex R. Dotson III, Chris Avaritt, Ty and Taylor Brown, Zack Rayl, Gabriel Watson, Joshua Vaughn and Callie Vaughn; one great-grandchild, Avelyn Dotson; and special friends, Jerry and Carol Deal of Dalton, Ga.
