Elizabeth Ann Womac Webb, 74, of Niota, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.



A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late R.T. and Frances Harwell Womac, and was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Coleman. She was a seamstress for Niota Cleaners and a member of Niota United Methodist Church, where she served as financial secretary, and of the Niota Volunteer Rural Fire Department. She was a three-term mayor of Niota and was the first female mayor in McMinn County.



Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack Edward Webb of Niota; a brother-in-law, Donald Coleman of Niota; two nieces and spouses, Patty and Mark Lee of Harrison and Beth and Rick Gates of Ooltewah; and one great-niece, Lily Gates.



Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Joshua Felton officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Niota Cemetery.



Active pallbearers will be membes of the Niota Vounteer Fire Department.



The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
