Michael James Larson, 44, of Athens, entered into the sanctuary of Heaven on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.
Michael was born on March 20, 1968, in Joliet, Ill., to Larry and Carolynn Larson. He attended schools in Plainfield, Ill., Vero Beach, Fla., and Rochester, Minn. Michael was a very kindhearted man who loved spending time with his family and friends. On Dec. 17, 2010, he married the love of his life, Marie Horton. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Larson; nephew, Ryan Knudsen; and grandparents, Alan and Dorothy Larson and Howard Applen.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marie; parents, Carolynn and Pat DiTrocchio; sister, Jacqueline Knudsen; stepsister, Maria DiTrocchio; stepbrother, Matthew DiTrocchio; grandmother, Thelma Applen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul\'s Episcopal Church in Athens. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
