Linda Gail Fairbanks Walker, 54, of Decatur, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Athens and a longtime resident of Meigs County, she was a daughter of the late Carson Allen \"Fuzz\" and Bessie Mae Hall Fairbanks, and also her father and mother who raised her, Pete and Aline Hall. She was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Allen \"Tiny\" Bonds; four sisters, Reba Fairbanks, Mary Lou Fairbanks, Faye Fairbanks and Francis Shelton-Hill; and three brothers, Bayless Fairbanks, Bobby \"Wad\" Fairbanks and Joe Buck Fairbanks. She was a former employee of Life Care Center of Athens.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Chuck DeLashmitt of Decatur, and Lisa and Mitchell Maddox of Cleveland; two sons, Jason Bonds and Damien Witt, both of Decatur; the father of her children, Junior Bonds of Boynton Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Haley, Ian, Adrian and Thane DeLashmitt and Lilly Maddox; two great-grandchildren, Blace DeLashmitt and Gage Riggs; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Daniel Filyaw, Nancy and Maynard Goforth, Hazel and Duke Ricker, Louise Stokes, and Darlene Fairbanks and Ronnie Morrison, all of Decatur; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Fairbanks of Cleveland, Ohio; and her stepmother, Sarah Fairbanks of Decatur.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Lake Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thane DeLashmitt, Shane Walker, Kenny Fairbanks, Chuck DeLashmitt, Danny Filyaw, Adam Stokes and Jake Ricker.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
