Paul Graves, 87, of Decatur, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his residence.
He was a member of Peakland Baptist Church. He served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Freemasons.
A son of the late William Channey and Iva Sharp Graves, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Faye Graves; and three brothers, twin brother Haul, Fred and Paris Vaughn Graves.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Sheila Graves of Ten Mile, and Teddy and Lucy Graves and Billy and Linda Graves, all of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa \"Ticy\" and Danny Teague of Decatur; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Olavine Miller.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. George \"Dump\" Armour officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Pisgah Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
