William Roy \"Bill\" Johnson, 66, of Englewood, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
A native of Highlands, N.C., he had lived in Englewood for the past 45 years and was employed with Bowater for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
A son of the late Howard and Leila Johnson, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Johnson, and one sister, Mary Johnson Owens.
Survivors include his wife, Pauletta Deatherage Johnson; one sister, Mavis Burrell of Clayton, Ga.; two special girls, Jody and Lexi; and five special four-legged family members, Sassee, Fancee, Shelby, Sam Cat, and Nickee Nac.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Jim Ball delivering the eulogy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. graveside service with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Shearer, Billy Roach, Bud Peeler, Josh Stevens, Jerry Shadden, Don Noah, and Gary Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McMinn Regional Humane Society, P.O. Box 7, Athens, TN 37371-0007.
