Ivan Curtis \"Cracker\" McNutt, 84, of Athens, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church, and was retired from H.T. Hackney Co. after more than 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late James Roger and Dessie Allen Matthews McNutt, and was also preceded in death by one sister, Alice Elizabeth Owens; three brothers, Grover McNutt, Bill McNutt and James Louis McNutt; and one great-granddaughter, Aliza Robinson.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joyce Bohannon McNutt of Athens; son, Bill McNutt of Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law, T.J. and Kevin Hensley of Athens, and Eva and Scott Gay of Etowah; five grandchildren, Angela Long, Cody Hensley, Andrew Gay, Olivia Lawson and Heather Pike; five great-grandchildren, Hayden Long, Brady Robinson, Sophia Lopez, Jazzmyne Hensley and Corin Pike; sister, Shelby Davis of Athens; brother, Kenneth McNutt of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bryant and the Rev. Martin Bolin officiating.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Clearwater Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Gay, Dylan Lawson, Cody Hensley, Hayden Long, Michael Davis, Jeff Walden and Tracy Farrell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Henderson-Perry Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
