Joann Hyer, 78, of Decatur, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.
She was of the Baptist faith, and retired from General Motors after 32 years.
She enjoyed fishing and gardening and spending time in the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Voretta Stevens; husband, William Denzil Hyer; and brothers, C.L. Stevens and Don Stevens.
Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Nosich of Knoxville, Belinda Hyer of Akron, Ohio, and Kim Martin (Mark II) of Decatur; two sons, Ricky Hill of LaFollette, and Jack Hill of Texas; nine grandchildren, including, Heather Duncan of North Olmsted, Ohio, and Billiee Jo Miklos and Frankie Miklos, both of Decatur; two sisters, Wilma Nichols and Shirley Greene; two brothers, Ralph and Michael Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Cleveland is in charge of arrangements.
